Because we believe access to healthcare is a right, not a privilege.

“The focus of foreign assistance needs to shift from aid to enterprise, from poverty alleviation to wealth creation, from paternalism to partnerships, from handouts to investments, from seeing the poor as consumers or burdens to seeing them as creators and from encouraging dependency to integrating the poor into networks of productivity and exchange.”

“Why Foreign Aid Is Harmful.” Jonathan Lea Network, 6 April 2020.

Poor access to healthcare services in rural and hard to reach communities of Malawi because much as healthcare services are free in public health facilities, people still need transport money to get to health facilities.

The National Statistical Office (NSO) 2019- 2020 report states that the national proportion of the population that was poor was 50.7 percent.
“This means that slightly over half of the population in Malawi lived in poverty,” reads the report, adding that more people in rural areas were poorer than those in urban areas.

We use a social entrepreneurship and sustainable livelihood approach to support the ultra-poor in rural and hard-to-reach communities as a strategy for them to be able to access healthcare services. Through our Medical Mobile Outreach Clinics, we take healthcare services right to communities where people live.

Our programs have made it possible to sustainably and cost-effectively increase disposable  household incomes for people to be able to access health.

We take healthcare services to where people live.

We tackle poverty through an integrated holistic approach that recognizes the multifaceted and
interconnected needs of the most vulnerable, bringing economic and social development together. Our
social enterprises work independently but in support of each other, cycling the profits back into the
community through medical services, microloans, and vocational
skills training.
We are not a charity but a movement of sustainable solutions that is transforming
the community.
